Abstract

4011. Clare, F. A. Feb. 17. Pots and jugs.-In a tea-pot, coffee-pot, or similar vessel having a removable spout with strainer devices, the spout e, Fig. 1, is screwed on to a flanged tube d, fitted through a hole in the wall of the tea-pot &c. Packing-rings b interposed between the wall c and the flanged lower end of the spout, and between the wall c and the flanged tube ensure fluid tightness. The sleeve d has a perforated wall a constituting a strainer. In a modification, the tube d, Fig. 2, is formed on the spout f and is held in place by a ring nut g, which may be formed with a strainer, a locking-ring h being screwed on the sleeve d between the outer packing-ring b and a shoulder on the spout. The strainer may be arranged in the spout and may be of elongated cup-shape. The vessels may be made of glass, china, stoneware, or metal, and the spout may be of aluminium.
