Abstract

3412. Krinninger, G. Feb. 10. Field carriages; tripod and like mounts for machine guns.-Relates to mounts for machine and other guns adapted for firing at moving targets, such as air-craft, at high elevations. The improved mounting comprises a standard 1 with a swivelling- head 2 connected to the gun, and a second support 7, of adjustable length, which is also connected to the gun, at 9, and to the standard 1 by an extensible, elevation-adjusting, link 6. The standard 1 is carried by a tripod or other base, or is spiked so that it may be thrust into the ground, and the link 6 is jointed to the standard by a clamping-band 5 which permits the link 6 and support 7 to be adjusted into any position, such as that shown by dotted lines, relatively to the standard 1.
