Abstract

29,934. Kershaw, R. Dec. 30. Producers; producer plant.-A spray-box B fitted with a water-spraying nozzle G is arranged at the top of a gas-producer A, and is connected therewith by a pipe C. A chimney F and pipe D lead from the spraying-box, the pipe D terminating in a sump E, and a bell-mouthed pipe L, the mouth of which is directly under the pipe C, leads into the pipe D. A scraper N, operated by a handle R, is used to clean the bell-mouth K and the bottom of the pipe C. The water from the spraying-nozzle G flows down the pipe D and from the pipe C to the pipe L, thus removing dust from the gas leaving the producer before it reaches the scrubber J and tar-extractor S. Owing to the position and arrangement of the gas-outlet, the suction is equalized over the whole upper surface of the fuel.
