Branches and mains, connecting. - For attaching a pipe to a main x or other container, a screwed connector 1 is secured in the tapping-hole by two or more segments 2 having flanges 3, 4 which engage the connector and the plate x respectively. The segments are prevented from falling inwards by a bush 5, and the joint is tightened by a nut 7 and washer 6 on the connector 1. An ordinary screw-socket 9 may be used in addition.
