Movable-abutment type.-In the spinning of artificial filaments, the spinning-solution is supplied to the nozzles by a gear pump of the known type consisting of one or more coplanar pairs of gear-wheels enclosed in a closelyenveloping casing. By the rotation of the wheels solution is drawn from the reservoir through an opening in one side of the casing and is transmitted around the peripheries of the wheels to an opening on the other side of the casing in connexion with the spinning-nozzles.
