Bakers' ovens.-In an oven heated by sets of parallel flues, dampercontrolled inlets and outlets are so arranged that the gases may be passed through the flues of a set either in series or in parallel. The flues e, f, g beneath the sole of the oven are connected together in pairs, and all the flues may be put in communication with the chimney through the passages m controlled by dampers n. One flue of each pair is also provided with an inlet damper i, and a connexion with a dampered outlet flue k. By suitably manipulating the dampers, the gases can be passed through the pairs of flues either in series as shown by the arrows, or in parallel. The flues in the roof of the oven are arranged in similar fashion, but the pairs are connected together, and outlets are provided at both ends, while the damper-controlled inlets are intermediate of the length of the flues.
