Abstract
27,702. Hodgkinson, F. Dec. 2. Blades, fixing. Turbine blades 6 are formed with feet 7 by upsetting or otherwise deforming the root of the blade. The blade-carrying element 1 is formed with an undercut groove 2, accommodating the blades 6 and distance-pieces 10, and a supplementary groove 3, accommodating the feet 7. The blades and distance-pieces are secured in position by compound tapered wedges 13, 14 inserted in one side of the groove. In a modification, the blades are made with inverted T-shaped roots.
