Davits.-Duplex davit arms f, f<1> are pivoted at g, g<1> in athwart-ship frames a so that the boats h, h<1> carried by the davits can be stowed one over or beside the other. The davits are luffed by screw gear mounted in the frames and comprising screws b, b<1> on which work sleeves c, c<1> linked to the davits f, f<1> by arms k. In a modification, the sleeves are provided with outstanding pins which work in slots in the davits. The boat h<1> carried by the longer davits f<1> is supported in its inboard position by chocks l having a pivoted part l<1> normally held up by a pin l<3>.
