Spring mountings and supports for seats &c.-Seats for road vehicles &c. are mounted on hinged rigid struts and resilient struts obliquely arranged in vertical planes lying in the line of travel of the vehicle, so as to take up jolts due to sudden starting and stopping as well as jolts due to inequalities in the road. The seat member may comprise slats A supported on bearers B. The rigid diagonal struts C are pivoted in bearings F and in bearings in the base-plates G. Compression springs J, K are arranged between the brackets H and the base-plates G, and between the brackets H, L. The compression of the springs may be regulated by the rods M, M<1> and nuts N, N', and undue compression is prevented by the rubber blocks 0, O<1>. Instead of a slat seat, the flexible seat described in Specification 9796/13 may, with suitable adaptation, be used.
