Abstract

23,706. Schweikert, G., and Czeczowiczka, A. Oct. 17. Sodium - aluminium silicates. - The watersoftening substance known as permutit, consisting chiefly of sodium - aluminium silicates is, after use, regenerated by first thoroughly heating, for instance by passing steam or hot water through the granules or by a steam jacket, and then adding a hot solution of sodium chloride so as to cover all the granules. The revivification is allowed to proceed for eight to twelve hours, preferably in a covered vessel provided with stirring-means.
