Universal joints.-In a device allowing both universal and longitudinal movement of two shafts, one shaft has a spherical head 5 exactly fitting a cylindrical cup 1 carried by the other shaft, balls 7 having one half of their surfaces in recesses in the head 5 and the other half in longitudinal semicircular grooves 3 in the cup 1.
