Piston pumps; actuating pumps by fluid pressure motors.-A double-acting compressor of the type comprising a compression chamber with conical ends 15 fitted with a correspondinglyshaped piston 22 is located inside the compressed-air reservoir 11. The inlet and outlet valves 36, 24 are arranged in the conical walls. The compressor may be driven by a compressed-air engine, either directly or through the medium of levers and links from the engine cross-bead, and may be adapted to compress the exhaust from the engine.
