Folding boxes.-The four longer rigid sides a<1>, a<2>, a<3>, a<4> and ends d, d of a collapsible box or case for use as a sample case, luncheon box, fruit box, &c. are hinged together by the fabric covering and lining of the box, the ends being similarly hinged to internal ' sides g scored at i and hinged to one of the rigid sides. In use, the sides a', a<3> are folded upwards, the side a' becoming the lid which is closed by a flap c provided with suitable fastening means. To collapse the box, the internal sides are folded down to the positions o, the ends thus folding on the bottom. The longer sides are then bent into a W-form, and the box is held in the collapsed position by means of the fastening-device. The top of the box may have a carrying-handle.
