Impact pulverizers.-In a disintegrator in which the material is fed into a casing at one side of a rotary disk having projecting beaters on one or both sides coacting with fixed rings in the casing, a conical or cylindrical impact ring d, Fig. 1, is arranged on the wall of the casing opposite the feed-inlet, so that the wiper b on the beater-disk h works between the ring d and the grid a. The ring d surrounds an annular member e projecting from the rear wall to within a short distance of the disk h, and two impact rings c, k are provided on the front wall of the casing. Fig. 2 shows a machine having two annular impact members f, g with rings n, o on the rear wall of the casing, and the beater-disk h with rear beaters l, m working adjacent to the members f, g. Apertures i are provided in the disk within the circumference of the ring n to allow part of the feed to pass to the rear side of the disk. The rings may be slotted as shown, or may be without slots so that the material has to pass between their edges and the disk.
