Abstract

15,103. Knowles, A. E. Oct. 16, 1911. Connexions. - In apparatus applicable to the production of oxygen and hydrogen, each conductor f passes through a tube c, welded or otherwise attached to a trough-shaped gas collector d and dipping into the electrolyte. The tube c may be insulated from the electrode by a block h resting on the edge of the latter. The conductor is surrounded within the tube by a loose insulating sleeve, and above the gas-collector by an insulator i, a washer j, and nuts k, l which clamp a main conductor m. The tube c may serve for discharging excess of gas from the collector.
