Azo dyes, forming on the material.-Violet to blue shades are obtained by developing with diazotized 'p-nitraniline cotton dyed with the secondary disazo dyes obtained from 2:5:7- aminonaphthol sulphonic acid, a middle component, such as cresidine, 1-naphthylamine or its 6- or 7-sulphonic acids, or 2:5:7- or 2 : 8 : 6- aminonaphthol sulphonic acid, and 2:5:7- aminonaphthol sulphonic acid or an aryl derivative thereof, such as the phenyl derivative. Specifications 5857/96 and 2683/00, [both in Class 2, Acids and salts, Organic, &c.], are referred to. The Provisional Specification also refers to dyes containing alkyl or acidyl, for example benzoyl, derivatives of the 2:5:7-acid as end components.
