14,070. Tabulo, L. June 17. Frame pulleys; pulley-blocks.-Frame pulleys are so constructed and arranged that pulls in any required angular direction may be obtained. In the form shown in Fig. 1, an outer fixed annulus 1 has mounted inside it a frame 2 carrying two sheaves 7 with their peripheral surfaces in close proximity. Rollers 5 bear between pockets in the frame and the fixed annulus. The frame 2 is secured in place by end plates bolted at 4 to the fixed annulus. In a modification shown in Figs. 4 and 5, the annulus is provided with lugs for bolting to a fixture, while the rotatable frame is formed by a cupped disk 10 and a plain disk 11 bolted together Only one sheave 7 is used, the place of the other being taken by a pin 12 passed through lugs on the disk 10. The annulus is formed with a gate 16 and cut-away portions 17 are formed in the disks leading to the sheave 7. A removable sheave may be mounted on a removable pin such as the pin 12. Two or more pulley frames may be used together. The invention may also be applied to a hanging block.
