Vulcanizing tyres. - In apparatus for vulcanizing tyre-covers, of the type in which the cover is held on an expansible coil and vulcanized between steam - heated moulds, the lower of which moves upwards to bring the cover into contact with the upper, means are provided for regulating or equalizing the heat imparted to the tyre. The different mould parts are heated by separate steam supply pipes capable of independent operation, so that the lower mould, which makes contact with the cover before the upper mould, may be heated to a lower temperature. In a modification means, such as springs f are carried by the lower mould c, and as the latter is raised, bear on the former b, holding the tyre a away from the mould c until contact is made with the upper mould c, when the resistance of the springs f is overcome.
