Abstract
13,304. Haworth, J. June 6. Tyre attachments to rims; detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-A segmental detachable rim has segments adjustable relatively by radially-acting means. Main segments a, Fig. 1, alternate with bridging-segments b, there being a bevelled joint. The rim may be applied either to a wooden felloe c or a wire-spoke wheel, the segments being secured together by screwed studs and wing-nuts g. At the centre of each segment is a block a<1> or b<1>, and the rim as a whole is secured by radial tap-bolts d. The segments may be spaced as shown, in which case there are side plates e, or there may be a recessed rim on which the segments a rest directly.
