Abstract
12,105. Clegg, A. E. May 22. Blowing.-Relates to the neck moulds of bottle-making machines. The half-moulds a<1>, a<2>, which may be formed internally so as to indent the bottle neck, are mounted on the ends of arms b<1>, b<2> carried by vertical spindles c<1>, c<2>. Short levers f<1>, f<2> are also mounted on the spindles c<1>, c<2>, and are connected by a rod n. A rod o connects the lever f<2> with a centrally-pivoted operating-handle h, by means of which the moulds a', a<2> can be moved simultaneously. The arm f<1> is shorter than the arm f<2>, so that the mould a' is swung more to the side than the mould a<2>. In a modification, the half a<2> is fixed, the handle h operating the front half a<1> only. Specification 23,422/11 is referred to.
