Abstract

12,052. Duffield, T. C. May 25, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Blowing and moulding bottles.-In an apparatus for making bottles of the shape shown in Fig. 6, the finishing-mould halves B', B<2> are provided with sliding pieces b<4>, which can be pushed forward by eccentrics b<5>. The parison mould D, Fig. 4, is first raised into the finishing-mould, and, after the glass has been introduced and pressed by the plunger E, is then lowered, leaving the parison suspended by the neck. The mould bottom C is then moved into place by a rod c, and the eccentrics b<5> are turned so as to bring the parts b<4> into the position shown in Fig. 5. The blowing &c. then takes place as usual.
