Abstract

9293. Glasgow, A. G., [Rusby, J. M.]. April 19. Grates.-In a carburetted water-gas plant the generator 1 is provided with a grate 11 having a perforated dome 18 open at the bottom and projecting into the interior of the generator, and having air, blast, and steam connexions 16, 17, 9, respectively. The dome 18 may be water-cooled by connexions 19 and its effective height may be altered either by a piston 20, Fig. 2, operated by a handle 25 through suitable gearing 22, 23 or by raising or lowering the dome through a collar on the grate.
