Abstract
26,475. Koller, K. Dec. 7. Producers.-Slag or clinker is removed from producers consuming brown coal and lignite by the use of a vertically-movable floor in combination with temporary fire-bars, which are inserted to cut off the layer of slag and to support the superposed column of coal, when the floor is lowered. The floor K is composed of four sector-shaped parts K<1>, and a central blast box K<11>, and is raised or lowered by gearing connected with a blast-pipe M. In operation, the floor is first lowered sufficiently to allow the fire-bars to be inserted through guides in a grate box H, and is then lowered into a trolly L, removed, and replaced by a similar floor. The trolly carries a cylinder S forming a continuation of water-jacketed combustion chamber F. A gascollector surrounds the feed-hopper B, and opens into an escape pipe D.
