Abstract

Sleves with compound or variable motion.- Apparatus for classifying ores &c. consists of an adjustable case containing sieves and having a semicircular movement which can be regulated. The case t, Fig. 1, carrying the sleves u. is mounted on bearers p, Fig. 2, supported by the collars o of eccentrics n, n' on transverse shafts m, m<1>. The shafts m, m<1> are connected together by a rod q, and are rocked on their axles r by a lever k, which terminates in a collar l embracing the shaft m and is actuated by a rod j connected to a crank-axle or eccentric i on a radially-adjustable plate h carried by the fly-wheel g of the driving-shaft d. By varying the setting of the collar l relatively to the eccentrics, the form of the semicircular movement imparted to the case t can be modified. A traction spring y is connected to the rod q. The case is pivoted at one end round trunnions w on supports v carried by the bearers p, and carries gudgeons engaging in curved slides x carried by the bearers, so that its inclination can be adjusted.
