Abstract

3562. Neave, J. Feb. 13. Gratings.-Relates to combined permanentway gullies and rail drain-boxes fitting cutaway parts of the rail lip and provided with a hinged grating lid, and consists in the provision of the tapered bar 22 supporting and connecting the tapered grating bar 9, which stop short of the rail. Projections 13 are cast on or fitted to the bar 22 to seat against the rail. Grooves 21 are cast or cut in the top edges of the box 1 and the end bars 9 to drain water from between the rail and the paving. The bar 22 is also cambered in a longitudinal direction.
