2221. Kaltschmid, K. Jan. 27. Electric hand-irons.- The supply leads pass separately through the hollow uprights of the handle, which is removable. The heating- resistance in the body a is connected with pins provided with split resilient heads 6,7. The leads e<1>, f<1> passing through the uprights i are connected with metal sockets 8, 9 screwed into the handle uprights and engaged by the' pins when the handle is placed in position. Instead of this method of connexion, binding- screws may be used, or the base of a screwed plug in the handle may be engaged by a blade or spiral spring secured to the spring on the body ; or, as shown in Fig. 9, the pin may abut against a spring- depressed plate 22 slidable within the socket 11.
