Abstract

968. Adenot, L. Jan. 12. Draught-excluders of the hinged - flap type consist of a strip of flexible material e carried by a bar d attached to a spindle b provided with a bent arm which projects through a hole in the door and engages the door-post g, so that the excluder is pressed down when the door is shut. The excluder is raised, when the door is opened, by a spring m, and by a weight p connected to the excluder by means of a cord n passing over a pulley o. In a modification, the bent arm j may be pivoted on the spindle b and fixed to the bar d which, in this case, is movable about the spindle b; or instead of the arm projecting through the door, a projecting member may be fixed to the door post.
