Abstract

10,207. Ward, B. April 30. Draught-excluders.-A flap a, hinged to a batten b secured to the bottom of a door &c., is forced in contact with the floor, when the door is closed, by a projection j on the door post k, and is raised, when the door is opened, by a tensioned coiled spring c. The hinges and spring are covered by a moulding l which is secured to the batten b and may be adjusted to limit the upward movement of the flap a. The projection j, which makes contact with a plate m on the flap a, is carried by a plate j<1>, which carries another projection j<2> at its rear, so that the same plate may be utilized for doors hinged on either side. The lower edge of the flap a is rounded and may be covered with felt &c.
