703. Kulesza, S. Jan. 9. Thrashing-machines.-The beaters of a thrashing - machine take the form of short bars 9 arranged longitudinally on the drum. The bars 9 are mounted on spiders 7, and may be connected by short circumferential rods 10 producing a step-like formation between the spiders. In other forms, the two spiders are connected by straight bars carrying the short beaters, or a number of spiders may be employed. The beaters are preferably arranged so that only one lies on any longitudinal line of the drum, and the angular distance between adjacent lines on which the beaters lie is constant.
