191,177. Amos, A. J., Villiers, W. F., and Cording, C. E. Oct. 11, 1921. Cam gears. - An adjusting-device for engine valve-gear comprises a wheel 5 mounted in a valveoperating member, such as a lever 2, and having keyed engagement with an adjusting-screw 13, the periphery of the wheel having teeth engaging a spring-pressed detent 10 which gives an audible indication of the amount of adjustment. In a modification, a valve lifter or plunger is provided at one end with the adjusting-screw and with a recess to receive the wheel 5, the teeth of which are formed on one face thereof, instead of on the periphery.
