Abstract

29,280. Shaw, O. C. Dec. 29. Thrashing-machines.-The bars 2 of a thrashing - drum carrying teeth 13 are removably mounted in end plates 1. At each end of the bar is a partly cylindrical enlargement 3 having a central flange 4 forming a shoulder 5 at one side and having a semicircular recess 8 at the other. In the end plate is a cavity 7 having a groove 6 to fit the enlargement 3 and flange 4. At one side of the cavity is an aperture into which fits a pin 10 carried by a spring 11 and engaging the recess 8. The end plates may be bent laterally to cause adjacent cavities 7 to lie in different planes and thus to stagger the teeth 13, all the bars being of the same length, but the teeth may be arranged at different distances from the ends of the bars for this purpose.
