Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores.-A tyre, or a core adapted to be fitted within an ordinary tyre cover, is formed by winding strip rubber f in tension upon a metal or like base-ring e, and is fitted with a tread g, with or without a fabric liner g<1>. As shown in Fig. 3, blocks of metal, fibre, &c. may be fitted in break-joint order between the plies of rubber. The plies may be perforated at intervals.
