29,130. Kiralfy, I. Dec. 27. Railways for recreation.-A car runs on a track which is so arranged that the car is both rotated and tilted. The car a, Fig. 2, is circular, and the seats a<1> are provided with arms a<Î> by means of which the passengers may be locked in the seats. A padded knee board is also arranged in front of the seats. The car may be mounted on wheels, castors, or the like, and has a flanged ring d<2> fixed to the underside, which engages a pair of safety rails d<4> fixed to the track b. The car may be propelled by any suitable means, preferably by a dog d<1> on a power-driven chain a<11> which engages the ring d<2>. The track b, which may be straight, circular, or of any shape in plan, assumes various angles between horizontal and vertical, and the car also is forced to tilt. When in an inclined position, the side a' of the car rests on a part b<11> of the track at right-angles to the part b and is thus forced to rotate. In a modification, the car while loading is secured to a counterweighted platform d<5>, Fig. 9, which is mounted on an axle d<6>. When the car is loaded, the platform is rotated so that the car is placed on its side on the track between two dogs d<10> secured to a driving chain d<9>, as shown in Fig. 10. The dogs have friction rollers, so that the car is forced to travel with the chain and roll along the track. The device may be constructed on a small scale for use as a toy.
