Abstract

26,631. Bullen, J. R. Nov. 28. Syringes. - An attachment for garden and other syringes consists of a length of tubing C having mounted at one end an elbow D fitted with an internal valve E and nozzle F. A cap G provided with a number of perforations H, through which the liquid is drawn on the.up-stroke of the syringe piston, is screwed into the elbow D, and a coiled spring I keeps the valve E normally against the screwed boss G<1> of the cup G. A hollow connexion, formed integrally with the valve E and nozzle F, forms a passage for the liquid between the two and enables the nozzle to be turned in any required direction. A spring plate K, Figs. 3 and 4, is coiled in the nozzle F and covers the nozzle end of the connexion J, and compresses sufficiently under the pressure of the liquid to allow the liquid to be diverted between it and the side of nozzle, thus creating a whirl, so that on emerging through the aperture L in the concave face N of the nozzle, the liquid is broken into a fine spray.
