24,749. Marks, E. C. R., [Youngquist, C. G., and Youngquist, C. F.]. Nov. 7. Sliding-jaw wrenches. -Spanners of the type having an adjusting- worm eccentrically mounted on a spindle in the movable jaw to allow of its being readily thrown into and out of engagement with the rack on the shank of the fixed jaw, are provided with a spiral spring 22 tending to rotate the spindle so that the worm normally engages the rack teeth. A projection 26 on the bearing - member 16 engages a curved groove in the milled head 23 of the spindle 20 to limit the rotary movement of the head.
