Abstract
23,466. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. Feb. 23, [Convention date]. Ordnance breech mechanism. - Relates to recocking-mechanism for wedge-breeches, of the kind in which the block - actuating thrust lever operates a recocking - member when the breech is opened. According to the invention, the recocking - member is integral with the pivot pin of a lever for independently re-cocking the striker in case of miss-fire. The pivot pin also serves to retain in place a piece on which the cocking-Iever of the lock is carried. The recocking-member K, which is mounted vertically in the breech-block B as shown in Fig. 3, has at its upper end a crank k<1>, Fig. 1, which is engaged, when the breech is opened and closed, by the walls c<3>, c<4> of a recess c<2> in the thrust lever C. At its lower end, the member K has a cut-away part k<2> against which the end f<1> of the cocking-lever F bears. A lever R, Fig. 7, is pivoted upon the stem k<4> of the member K, and engages the lever F by a projection r<1>, so that the striker D can be recocked after a miss-fire. The lever R is acted upon by a spring M contained in a casing n<2> in a piece N which carries the pivot pin n<1> of the lever F. The piece N is secured in the breech-block by the stem k<4> of the recocking- member K.
