Abstract

127,642. Soc. Anon. des Etablissements Delaunay Belleville. March 20, 1916, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block. - Consists of a gas-operated gun having a system of levers, springs, and catches wherein opening, closing, and firing springs are simultaneously compressed by the movement of the gas piston. In the construction shown, the piston is driven forwards by the gases and thereby rotates a lever 9, to which it is connected by a rod 6. The lever 9 drives a slide 18 forwards by means of a lever 11 and link 16, thereby compressing the opening- spring 21, the closing-spring 29 which is arranged on a rod 25 pivoted to the boltactuating lever 30 and sliding in a sleeve 22 pivoted to the slide 18, and the firing-spring 42, Fig. 6, which is arranged on a telescopic rod connected to the slide 18 and to the hammer 46. When the slide 18 reaches its forward position, a pawl 23 on the sleeve 22 engages a notch 38 in the rod 25, thus holding the spring 29 compressed and positively linking the slide 18 to the actuating-lever 30. The spring 21 then reacts to open the breech, and, at the end of the opening movement, the pawl 23 is turned by a stop 40 to release the rod 25 and allow the spring 29 to close the breech.
