22,640. Calderwood, W. Oct. 13. Candles.-A candle is provided with an incombustible end by moulding it with a dovetailed projection b in the manner described in Specifications 23,789/00 and 10,841/07, trepanning the projection so as to leave the end of the wick clear, and filling the holes so formed with plaster &c. e previously rendered incombustible by treating it with a solution of alum &c. A protecting-covering f, which may be prepared by boiling stearic &c. acid and wax with a base, such as zinc oxide, is then moulded round the end of the candle.
