Abstract

21,026. Holmquist, C. M. Sept. 23. Resistances.-A heating-resistance consists of a wire wound on two strips a of mica or other insulating material separated by a return conductor c. The wire is connected to metal bands d<1>, d<2> clipped over the strips, and the conductor c is connected to the band d<2> and a band d. The bands d, d<1> are connected to pins e, which engage sockets in a block of porcelain, slate, cr other insulator in a holder, as shown in Fig. 1, the upper part of the resistance sliding in a guide in the holder. The holder may be provided with a reflector or a wire or perforated metal guard, and may fit a bayonet-joint or screw lamp-holder.
