Abstract

20,018. Bagrachow, G. Sept. 8. Drawings to Specification. Mantles.-Metallic fabrics are produced by knitting, by hand or machine, very fine metallic filaments simultaneously with one or more cotton or other textile filaments, which serve to support the metallic filaments during the knitting operation and are afterwards removed from the mixed fabric by burning. The remaining metallic skeleton is impregnated, for example, by the process described in Specification 18,084/10. The top and the supporting-ring are made of metallic filaments in like manner to cotton mantles. An ordinary circular mantleknitting machine is described in which textile filaments are supplied from two bobbins, and in which the metal filament is attached to one of the textile filaments and so drawn into the machine.
