Breech actions, sliding breech-block. - Relates to the spring-catch for retaining the breechblock in the open position when the magazine is empty, and consists in releasing this catch by means of a separate external side lever, which can also be used to apply the safety mechanism. When the side lever 50 is raised from the normal position shown in Fig. 2, the retaining-catch 47 is released by means of the intermediate lever 52. When the side lever 50 is depressed, the tripping-bar 25 is lowered ont of engagement with the sear 24.
