14,259. Goltstein, E. Oct. 19, 1910, [Convention date]. Locking nuts.-An elastic washer for locking a nut has two parallel ribs d, Fig. 2, at a distance apart equal to the width across flats. The bottom corners of the nut are chamfered off so that the nut rides over the ribs in screwing-up. In the example shown, the washer, which is applied to a fish-plate, is provided with a projection b which indicates the limit of screwing up by its contact with the fish-plate c. The nut is then turned back to the nearest locking position.
