Indicators, alarm.-Apparatus for indicating that a predetermined height has been attained in a cask or the like consists of a cylinder 2 connected by a guide-sleeve 5 to a curved plate 6 which rests across the bung-hole. A screw 14 allows the apparatus to be adjusted so that the cover 4 of the cylinder 2 touches the inside of the cask. An upright 8, slotted at 9, is screwed to the plate 6, but is electrically insulated from it. A slide 10, to which a spring 15 is fastened, is adjustably secured in the slot 9. As the float 1 in the cylinder 2 rises the contact on the top of the indicating-rod 3 first closes a circuit at 15 giving a brief warning-signal, and then the closing of the circuit at 10 causes a continued signal to be given. If desired, the contacts 3, 10 may be arranged to close a second circuit operating the supply tap.
