Abstract

1413153 Liquid level control; indicating liquid level T H CREEARS CORP 22 Nov 1972 [22 Nov 1971] 53908/72 Heading G1H and GIN [Also in Division H3] In a liquid level control system in which the liquid level is sensed by completing an A.C. circuit to ground through a probe 16, the arrangement is such that a gate circuit 38, 40, 42 biases an S.C.R. device 34 when the probe 16 contacts the liquid 20 to energize a pump control 22. If long lines 14 are used, a large stray capacitance occurs and switches 46, 47 may be operated to include a resistance to limit the discharge current. In a further embodiment, Fig, 4 (not shown), a diode rectifies the A.C. current and a capacitor smoothes the D.C. voltage and, when the circuit is open, biases current flow through a uni-directional device 50 and resistors 38, 58 to create a reverse bias and prevent the gate triggering.
