Gas distribution systems. - In high-pressure gas lighting- systems, such as those on railway carriages, the danger of fire is lessened by dispensing with high-pressure gaspipes connected to the storage tank. The filling-valve is arranged on the tank, and the reducing-valve supplying the low-pressure pipes leading to the burners is formed as part of the tank. As shown, one end of the high-pressure storage tank p is provided with a filling-valve comprising a ball or like non-return valve s and two screwed branches t for attachment of the gas-supply pipe. When it is desired to empty the tank, the valve s may be opened by a screwed rod w turned by a key. The pressure-reducing valve comprises a valve m actuated by a lever n carried by a diaphragm c pressed inwards by a spring d, the tension of which is adjustable.
