Moulds ; cores ; clamping flasks ; moulding processes.-To avoid risk of breaking the cores in casting one or more separate sections of radiators, sectional boilers, &c., the mould is arranged on edge while pouring, and is inclined as described in Specification 7875/11. If a number of sections are to be cast simultaneously, the flasks and cores 34 are piled between top and bottom plates 30, 33 in the frame 22, and are clamped by the screw 29 and placed for pouring so as to rest on the projections 32. When a single section is cast no frame is required but the flasks rest on their projections 50, Fig. 2. Gates 40 ... 43 and vents 39 are provided. Chaplets.-Wires 36 are dried in the cores 34 in such a position that they bed in the parting of the moulds and rest against the sides of the flasks.
