Abstract

10,413. Wilson, J. April 29. Filters, cleansing.-Filtered liquid is collected by perforated pipes c, Fig. 2, situated in V- or U - shaped troughs b, Fig. 1, as described in Specification 433/10, and is led away to a reservoir h through pipes e, f. To cleanse the filter, water from a main or water withdrawn from the reservoir h by a pump m is forced through a pipe k and through nozzles i which project into the pipe e at points diametrically opposite to shaped couplings d by means of which the pipes c are connected to the pipe e. The nozzles and the couplings d form injectors so that air to agitate the medium is drawn in through the pipe f by the cleansing-water.
