Abstract

10,127. Lake, H. W., [Fales, L. F.]. April 26. Disk and wheel apparatus.-A grindstone is provided with a casing to prevent injury to the workman should the stone burst, and with fans on the grindstone shaft to expel dust. The casing has peripherally-disposed flanges 16, 17 partly embracing it which are extended at one point 18 to form a support for the work-rest, and at the top to form a support 20 for a cover 13 which may be moved backward as the grinder wears. Upon each of the side members of the casing is a fan chamber communicating with an outlet 26 through which dust is expelled by the draught generated by the fans on the grinder shaft.
