Abstract

9927. Davis, W. J. April 24. Stirrup strap suspenders; stirrup straps. - A stirrup leather, which is capable of being extended for facilitating mounting, is provided towards its buckle end with a clasp normally supported by the buckle, a loop being thus formed in the stirrup leather. Fig. 1 shows a stirrup leather 5 provided with a supplementary strap p 1 attached at one end to the usual buckle 2 and and at the other end to a clasp 4, which has an eye for engaging over a hook 3 on the buckle, and may be provided with a spring catch cooperating with a recess in the hook. Fig. 1 shows a projection 7 on the hook which serves as a stop to prevent the clasp from becoming unhooked unless the clasp be turned into the position shown by dotted lines. By unhooking the clasp, the stirrup leather is lowered to the extent of the loop formed in the strap 1.
