Coating-appliances, hand.-In an apparatus for moistening envelope flaps &c., a roller B covered with absorbent is supported in slotted links 13, which slide on pins 14 on the sides of a liquid container 10. The roller is either placed on the container to absorb the liquid or on a support E with drain channels 21, or is rested against the open flaps of a pile of envelopes F which are withdrawn one by one.
